Throughout my degree I have had the chance to work with a wide range of patients and am continuously fascinated by what osteopathy can offer to such a diversity of problems. So far I have enjoyed working with the elderly, infants, athletes, patients that are HIV positive, and pre and post natal mothers.
Following my training I use a predominantly structural approach to osteopathy integrating cranio-sacral assessment and treatment when appropriate. I consider the biomechanics of the body and focus on the effects that everyday lifestyle factors including habitual postures, and psychosocial influences can have on it. In most cases I strongly believe that identifying and addressing these issues can help you regain a sense of control over your condition. It will allow you to take an active involvement in the recovery and that this will help prevent it from reoccurring.
Working within a multidisciplinary clinic has also allowed me to learn more about other complementary health therapies and be able to recommend integration of these treatments with osteopathy (when necessary) so that you as a patient are able to reach optimum health.
