Herbal
Medicine is the use of plant remedies to treat disease. It is the oldest form
of medicine known and still the most widely practised form of medicine in the world.
Adults and children alike can benefit from treatment with herbs, particularly those with conditions that are of a chronic
nature, are resistant to conventional treatment or are of an idiopathic nature.
Conditions
that often respond well to herbal treatment include:
· IBS, Crohn’s and other bowel problems
· Digestive problems
· Skin disorders
· Peri- and post-menopausal support
· Urinary tract infections
· Stress management
· Auto-immune disorders
A herbalist aims to identify
the underlying cause of the problem and uses herbal remedies in the form of a tincture mix, tea mix, cream, tablets, or other
suitable form, to help restore balance to the body, thereby promoting the healing process.

When Christina Bullen was
training to become a Medical Herbalist, her vision was ultimately to bring herbal medicine back into the community, so that
parents could feel confident about introducing their youngsters to this form of therapy.
These children can then use herbal medicine, and other complementary therapies, as a matter of course throughout life,
reserving orthodox medical intervention and use of antibiotics, for example, for when they are most needed.
